PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

St. Alban’s Episcopal Church

This ministry is an outgrowth of a 1997 women’s spirituality program in Connecticut that is being incorporated by many churches throughout the country. Knitters prayerfully knit simple, rectangular shawls that literally wrap the recipient’s grief in prayer when worn. Shawls are given to those facing difficult times in their lives, such as grave illness, surgery or bereavement. They are also given on joyous occasions such as the birth of a child. .

Currently the prayer shawl ministry is meeting at 6:30 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month. For more information, contact Judy Sessions in the church office
