St. Alban's

Ministries

A "ministry" is an activity carried out by members of the church in fulfillment of the church's mission. The church's mission is defined in Jesus' words to his disciples, "therefore go and make disciples of all nations."

St. Alban's Episcopal Church is involved in many ministries and each one is designed to reach out beyond ourselves to fulfill the mission of the church. Some of our ministries, such as our acolytes, altar guild, lay readers, and ushers are service oriented, focusing on serving those "disciples" who come to worship. Other ministries such as the Episcopal Church Women, Prayer Shaw Knitting Group, Las Chicas, Los Mens's, Children's Ministries, and Youth Ministries are geared toward specific groups within our church to provide opportunities for fellowship and formation.

To be involved in "ministry" is to simply do what we have been asked to do by Christ Jesus our Lord, to carry out his message of Love to the ends of the world.
